Arman Arun

Arman Arun is an Iranian-Canadian visual artist based in Toronto who began drawing and painting around the age of ten with a deep, inner passion.

His artistic approach is strongly shaped by aesthetics and a sensitive observation of his surroundings. Arman’s works often explore the ambiguity between existence and nonexistence, leaving parts of the composition open for the viewer’s interpretation and mental completion.

His move to Toronto has strengthened the minimalist and expressive structures in his work; structures that remain infused with ambiguity and are inspired by urban forms such as bridges and buildings, elements that merge with nature in his compositions.

In his figurative and portrait works, he combines the emotions and psychological states of his models with his own feelings and the surrounding space, creating a connection between form, light, and space. His works consistently examine themes of change and uncertainty, reflecting his philosophical worldview.
